Made for Electronics

The ECS shelf is made with 8mm tempered glass, an the wall plate hides bolts, for a clean, modern look. The wall plate features integrated cable management, for concealing messy cabling.

The shelf features a pivoting arm, for side-to-side movement, and a black nylon stabilizing strap for keeping your components in place.

Choosing the right technology

Plasma and LCD TVs look the same, but they are not. Some features or options don't differ a lot, but these are the major differences:

Size

If you arfe looking for an extra large TV, go for a plasma. Plasma TVs are the current size champions, particularly when comparing TVs that consumers can easily purchase. LCDs are catching up in size with their developing technology, however, and may surpass Plasmas in the near future. This may be due to difficulties in producing glass large enough for larger plasmas.

Burn-ins

With the latest plasma technology, this is less of an issue than ever before. The Pixel Orbitor, for example, is a method of reducing burn-in used by plasma manufacturers. It requires no additional programing from the end user as some older burn-in prevention techniques did.
Note: If you plan to use a plasma for gaming, some games with permanent 'dashboards' may still cause some burn-in. If you will be using the television for display use only, go for an LCD. Plasmas are more likely to get burned-in pixels.

Miscellaneous

- LCD TVs are far less fragile than plasmas. This is also an advantage when the tv set has to be shipped or moved to a different location.

- LCD TVs are also much easier to install than plasma TVs.

- LCD TVs have a better performance at high altitudes.

- LCD TVs are often cheaper than plasma TVs. The difference in pricing is getting smaller, however.

The AS3S is a tri-shelf cable management system. It can be used with or without a Plasma/LCD mount. This unit is designed to fit under your display and provide an on wall solution for other components such as cable boxes, DVD players, game consoles, and stereo components. There are three 2.25-Inch holes on the aluminum plate that allow you to cleanly run your cables up to your TV or down to another component, as well as out the bottom to an outlet. After reviewing our competition we realized that most shelving units need to be mounted directly into a wall stud. In most cases the wall stud is placed to the right or to the left of the display, which is not where most people prefer to have their shelves mounted. This is still the most secure option however, after significant research we’ve found that using the correct toggle bolts can allow you to mount your shelving unit wherever you see fit. With the combination of four of these toggle bolts the shelving unit is able to hold well over 70LBS safely. Each individual toggle bolt provides 75LBS of support. Please note that a good toggle bolt is still only as good as the quality of the drywall it is mounted into. If you have water damage or .25-Inch drywall please add a support for your shelving unit.

How to Hide Wires and Cables For Your TV Wall Mount Through the Wall

A flat screen TV with hidden wires looks great, but it is a bit of an art form to get your TV successfully mounted so that no wires are showing. You can use the outside of the wall system, where you buy color coded wires that match the wall. However, most people want the cables completely hidden and out of view. Here are a few things that you can do to make sure that your TV wall mount appears wire free.

1. Before you begin the installation process make sure that the particular wall where you want to place your TV is suitable for hiding wires. It should be an interior wall made of drywall, and should also have limited amounts of insulation.

2. Place small holes in the precise location or you can use a template provided by the wall plate manufacturer where you want to the wires to enter and exit. The holes should only be big enough for the wire to fit through; however be careful not to cut the holes too small. This often times leads people to try and "squeeze" wires into the wall, which can damage the wall further.

3. Get covers for where the wires enter and exit the wall. This keeps your wall from being damaged any further, and is also an excellent safety prevention measure for small children.

4. Measure the distance from the back of your television to any AV systems or gaming systems that you have. You want to make sure that your TV is at the right height for a wall mount, meaning that the cables reach from the back of the TV to the floor.

5. Hire an electrician to install a recessed plug right behind your TV wall mount. You do not want to run the power wire through the wall, so you either need to do this step or have one wire exposed.

6. Find the most direct route from the back of the television to the floor, and run the wires to the proper locations through the previously cut holes. Congratulations! Now you are ready to view your flat panel TV with no wires hanging from your TV wall mount.
